Jimmo's Angle Special: DWA (Devon): The Magnums vs The Alpha Males

Saturday 19th October - TLC (Tables, Ladders & Chairs) match to determine the number one contenders for the DWA Tag Team Championship
This Saturday sees the continuation of a rivalry. A rivalry that sees four talented individuals - two cohesive teams - battle it out to determine who will become the new number one contenders for the Andrews Brothers' Tag Team Championships. Not only will these teams be facing each other in what could be a great tag team bout, but they will do so under TLC - Tables, Ladders and Chairs - rules. For those of you that are not aware, this is a highly dangerous and potentially career-ending match. This just shows how high the stakes are and how great the prize is.

The two teams that will face off for this opportunity are polar opposites in almost every way - The Magnums; 'Filthy' Chris Walker and 'Dirty' Dick Riley and The Alpha Males; Iestyn Rees and Charlie Garrett.
'Dirty' Dick & 'Filthy' Chris: The Magnums
The Magnums have the experience advantage as they have been teaming for almost a year now. This has seen them gain much success - and championships - in various wrestling promotions throughout the south of England. As the months have gone on, they have gotten sleazier and sneakier in their matches and have come out on top in whatever way they have deemed necessary. Most notably, they are the current Pro Evolution Wrestling Tag Team Champions and have held the titles for the best part of a year, beating teams such as The Lionhearts (Eddie Ryan & Jason Larusso) as well as Project Ego (Kris Travis & Martin Kirby). These accomplishments clearly show that despite their somewhat underhanded tactics at times, they are very hard to overcome.

At the other end of the spectrum are The Alpha Males. Iestyn Rees and Charlie Garrett have had less than a handful of matches as a team but have already impressed and turned heads. Unlike The Magnums' sleazy, boozy and womanising ways, The Alphas are clean cut, hard-working (in and out of the gym) and are ready for life in the tag team division. They have already chalked up an impressive win over The Bruiser Street Mob (Gilligan Gordon & Matt Lomaxx) on their debut outing. Rees' experience and Garrett's youth and speed can only be a good thing despite the experience that they are giving away to their opponents as a team. It's surely only a matter of time before you will see The Alpha Males in tag team championship matches, as well as winning gold at some point in the future.
Charlie Garrett & Iestyn Rees: The Alpha Males
I managed to get some comments from both teams leading into their match this Saturday in Barnstaple, Devon:

The Magnums' thoughts on The Alpha Males:

"The Alpha Males are everything we despise. Like their love for the fans. Their respectful ways. We've beaten them once [at Pro EVW; October 12th] and we will beat them again! We think the TLC match is an outrage and should be banned. We are professionals and feel like weapons are a form of cheating. However, we do like to conceive children over tables and on chairs! Saturday will be a repeat of the Saturday just gone - we will win. We have been teaming a year now. The TLC is only their third match as a team and this is the weakness we will pick apart and use to our advantage. The Magnums are dirty and filthy for a reason - we will win by whatever means necessary! Barnstaple better be ready to get its sheets dirty!"

The Alpha Males' thoughts on The Magnums:
"They're giving it all the talk; on Sleaze TV; on every show that they're on - running us down. They never want to get in the ring with us, though? And when they do, they have to cheat to beat us. On October 19th, in Barnstaple, it's going to come to a head. Basically, they're all sizzle and no sauce; they've got nothing on us - we are the two best physical specimens in British wrestling today. It's our first time in a TLC match but we're ready."

Iestyn Rees' thoughts on 'Dirty' Dick Riley:
"He's gained a bit of weight since hanging around that 'Filthy' Chris Walker. He used to be in shape when he was training with Joel Redman. But now it seems that he's had too much Chinese, too many boozy nights and hanging around questionable nightclubs where other men hang out. I have wrestled Riley up and down the country and I know what he's about and what he can bring to a match."
Charlie Garrett's thoughts on 'Filthy' Chris Walker:
"I've had more dealings with Walker; I think I've beaten him most of the time, but Saturday will be a different situation. It's our team vs them and it's TLC so anything that has happened in the past is irrelevant now. I remember a time when Walker hit Iestyn with a chair; well on Saturday I'm going to hit him with a chair."
The Alpha Males on their chances this Saturday:
"We may be the underdogs; inexperienced in comparison, but we are winning; no doubt. Absolutely... we guarantee it. We WILL be the new number one contenders for the DWA Tag Team Championships."

As you can see, both teams are ready for the chaos and damage that will ensue on Saturday. If you're in the Barnstaple area (or even if you're not) get yourself along to The Factory, Barnstaple for a top evening of British wrestling. Please check out the Facebook page for this event for more (and up-to-date) information - DWA - TLC, The Factory, Barnstaple.

This show will also feature the DWA Tag Team Champions - The Andrews Brothers (Chris & Sam) along with other talents of the South-west of England.
