Jimmo's Angle Special: Pro Evolution Wrestling: Saturday 2nd November: Sysum vs Richtor

Saturday 2nd November: Pro Evolution Wrestling Championship: Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum (c) vs Richtor

This Saturday sees the next show on the Pro EVW calendar as they invade The Miners Welfare Club in Cinderford, Gloucestershire. This is a new venue that Pro EVW will be performing in but that won't change the standard of wresting that will be on display. There have already been a few matches announced and these are of the highest quality.

The main event of the evening will be a mouth-watering Pro Evolution Wrestling Championship match between the champion, Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum and the challenger, Richtor.

Although, I've said it before, this could be the biggest challenge that Justin has faced. In the last few months, Justin has defied the odds and defeated the likes of 'The Shark' Chris Andrews, JD Knight (in an epic series of matches) and former TNA star Doug Williams. He is fast becoming a champion that is very hard to defeat. The problem this Saturday is that the same could be said for his opponent.
The challenger; Richtor (photo: superkick.co.uk)

The Monstrosity known as Richtor has been steam-rolling his way through everyone in his path in recent months. Impressive victories over Gilligan Gordon, Mike Bird and Iestyn Rees has meant that all on the Pro EVW roster have taken notice of the big man. He has now earned a championship match and that can only be worrying news for The Hammer.

I managed to get comments from Richtor leading into this Saturdays match:
"This is a match that I have wanted for a very long time; I have won three in a row defeating Mike Bird, my former trainer Gilligan Gordon and former Pro Evo Heavyweight Champion Iestyn Rees, proving I am more than worthy of this opportunity. Finally management have seen sense and have given me what I want and you can tell that the fans want it, too. Sysum is very good, no doubt about it, he is a natural athlete and does some spectacular things in the ring but he has never, ever faced a challenge such as myself - I'm deceptively agile and strong. I am not your typical big guy wrestler. I'm also very pissed off as I never received my contractually obligated rematch from 2011 [Richtor is a former Pro EVW Champion himself] and this Saturday I will show exactly WHY I am the ONLY Grandslam Champion in Pro Evolution Wrestling history; WHY I am a monstrosity... And WHY I am better than The Hammer"
Be sure to get yourself along to The Miners Welfare Club in Cinderford, Gloucestershire (GL14 2JN) - doors: 6.30pm.

Other matches that have been announced:

'The Saviour' JD Knight vs 'The Shark' Chris Andrews

The Alpha Males (Garrett & Rees) vs The Ultimate Winners (PJ Jones & The UK Dominator)

WWE Raw: Just a few thoughts... (28/10/2013)

WWE Raw - Monday 28th October 2013

I just thought I'd address a couple of issues that I started thinking about after watching Raw this week. Probably nothing crazy or anything you haven't already read or thought yourself but just thought I'd throw it out there anyway...

Shawn Michaels / Daniel Bryan segment
So, just in case you didn't know, Shawn Michaels superkicked Bryan at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, costing him the match and the WWE Championship. After seeing this, along with HBK's conflicted look, I felt that the explanation would be that he was looking after his best pal (HHH) after Bryan delivered a running knee to WWE's COO. I really hoped that this wouldn't be the explanation and that it would be a full-on heel turn (if you're going to do it then go the whole way?!).

Unfortunately, it was the case and HBK explained that he was looking out for HHH as he had done for him in HBK's darkest days. So, does that mean that Michaels was ALWAYS going to do this and we shouldn't have voted for him? I don't know. There are a lot of people saying that this heel turn (from Michaels) was 'great' and it worked. I completely disagree. For me, I didn't feel that this was a heel turn at all. Michaels gave valid reasons for why he did what he did, was conflicted throughout until Bryan wouldn't shake his hand, got a little shitty that Bryan wouldn't shake his hand and backed it up with the 'I'm Shawn Michaels, dammit?!' but there was nothing of any huge aggression in it. It was a babyface explaining that he kind of messed up; not a full-on heel turn. HBK is too 'nice' nowadays (ever since turning to God) for me to buy him turning heel. A little pointless then...

Besides, it's not as if HBK is going to be around for that long to make a heel turn worth it. He'll go away and come back in a few months time loved more than ever?! Oh, and to the people who think that there will be a HBK vs Bryan match in the future: You need to take your hands out of your pants...

The Wyatt's attacks
The short of it is that The Wyatts attacked Daniel Bryan (after the HBK segment) and CM Punk a little later on Raw. In both cases, Bray Wyatt would say that 'the Devil made him do it'.

At Hell in a Cell, Paul Heyman described himself as the 'Devil' and 'Satan of the WWE'... so does two plus two equal four here? Is Paul Heyman going to be behind The Wyatts? I don't see it myself; The Wyatts are a mysterious, 'devil's rejects', hill-billy group that has a more-than-adequate mouthpiece in their leader, Bray Wyatt. Heyman is great, and a genius, but it just doesn't fit. Bring them to the main event scene, but let them do it under their own steam.

My first thought was that the 'Devil' could be Triple H in this situation. If you like, a modern version of 'The Higher Power' storyline of 1999 when Vince McMahon was revealed as the ultimate leader of the Corporate Ministry. Back then, The Undertaker was mysterious and all-powerful; who better to be the only one to have any control of him than the boss himself. So why not here, too? The Wyatts don't need to be part of The Authority (or whatever Triple H and co are calling themselves) but simply do their dirty work in putting Bryan and Punk in their places.

Kane
Hell in a Cell saw the return of Kane. He came to the ring to gain revenge over the guys that had 'kidnapped' him two months ago - aiding Miz in the process as he was taking a beating from Rowan and Harper (there's a lot of Wyatt family in this post eh?). Once he had cleaned house, he turned and delivered a Chokeslam to Miz. Now this was just a standard 'Kane's back and he's just reminding everyone' return, but should we have seen this as a heel turn? If so then WWE need to realise that to turn someone heel they should probably think about using a well-loved babyface to get the point across, not Miz; someone that people really couldn't give a crap about!

Then, on Raw Kane would defeat the jobber-treated Miz in about ninety seconds before calling Stephanie out. He would then seemingly berate her for the pain and suffering that she had put others through in the last couple of months, concluding that it was, in fact, best for business. He would then offer his services to her ('...the monster is yours to unleash') before giving her his mask.

Conclusions
I like that there seems to be new storylines starting/brewing but there are a few unresolved things that I think will be left behind. For starters, Daniel Bryan has been launched into the main event, been screwed four pay-per-views in a row and seems like he will move onto The Wyatts for the meantime? He still hasn't had the payoff that he deserves. Neither have the fans. As it stands, he has proven that he is the B+ player that Triple H and Stephanie have labelled him. He needed to win the title without any screwing or controversy, with a lengthy reign of some sort. Instead he is a two-time champion with a combined reign of about a day. As for the fans; they have paid for four pay-per-views now in the hope of seeing their hero claim the big one. I'm hearing of figures of $200 dollars being paid over that time and there has been no payoff, just continual screwjobs. I'm not saying these people should have refunds as screwy finishes are what you expect in wrestling from time-to-time, but four in a row is a bit ridiculous! By now the babyface should have prevailed otherwise he is a complete loser that we should throw on the scrapheap!

I don't see why I should care about him when he hasn't proved the heels wrong.

Kane's return says to me that when he was taken away (by the Wyatts), he was brainwashed to their way of thinking? Maybe this explains his change of attitude along with Bray Wyatt's 'Devil' talk - maybe Triple H? My hope is that Kane's allegiance to Stephanie doesn't result in him being her hired gun against Big Show. That match is old news and has been done to death over the years. Slow, crap matches, too.

At Survivor Series, Orton needs to be in an elimination match (to give him and the WWE title a rest for a month) and it should be Triple H vs Big Show. I don't see any other way to go unless they're serious about replacing Bryan with Show for a pay-per-view or two. Seems a step back to me, though...

Despite these thoughts, I'm still really into what's going on in the WWE. There are new storylines brewing and there a lot of unanswered questions (Kane's role? Wyatt's 'Devil'?) to be getting on with...

My Weekend of (British) Wrestling 21 - DWA (Devon)

Saturday 19th October 2013 - DWA (in association with Pro EVW) - The Factory Petroc, Barnstaple, Devon

Last night saw me take the longest trek yet for a wrestling show - Devon. Waking up at 5am to go to work, followed by a quick shower and a three-hour drive to Devon, two-hour show followed by another three-hour drive home; eventually getting home at 2am this morning; doesn't seem like the best of ideas! I don't think it's something that I could do that regularly, but this show was well worth the trip down.

I was keen to see how the DWA did things differently. For starters, the venue was a good size and seemed to have a stage appropriate to showcase the entrances of the wrestlers. This spacious building was easily going to house over 200 fans - which it did with an audience of over 260 ready for the evenings show.

The card would see four simple singles matches with the main attraction of the night being the TLC (Tables, Ladders and Chairs) match to determine the number one contenders to The Andrews Brothers' Tag Team Trophies. This would see the sleazy Magnums going up against the new, and impressive, Alpha Males.

Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum vs Richtor
The opening bout featured two young and up-and-comers in Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum and The Monstrosity known as Richtor. As Richtor came through the curtain to start this match, I could have sworn that there was a gasp from the fans in attendance; taken aback by the man's presence and size. Whoever Richtor was to face would surely be in for a troubled night? Justin would come out to strong support from the Barnstaple locals and would not let them down with his efforts.

The early going would show what both men were about - Justin dodging Richtor's advances with speed before Richtor would finally catch him and use his size and strength to good use. Usually, Justin would be the aggressor as he's no small man either, but he more than met his match in the tougher Richtor. There would be an impressive show of agility from Richtor, too - jumping from the floor to the ring apron, kicking Justin in the head in the process. After quite a battle, Justin would gain the win after successfully slamming Richtor - a la Hogan/Andre - on the second attempt. Good opener.

'The Winner' PJ Jones vs 'The Saviour' JD Knight
This match started out in the typical way of PJ claiming to be a winner - being very vocal about this point at close range to some of the fans faces. For some reason, the whole audience here were adamant that PJ was, in fact, a loser. This would infuriate PJ, throwing a tantrum and demanding MC Hank McCoy reiterate that The Winner's Circle regular had to be a winner.

Chops: JD Knight
For me this match will be remembered for the chops that both men gave - particularly Knight's, whose chops were probably heard up the road in Tiverton! Unfortunately, Knight would miss a top-rope leg-drop; resulting in PJ launching him into the turnbuckle post and rolling him up for the handful-of-tights-three-count. Decent flowing second match.

DWA Trophy match: 'The Shark' Chris Andrews (c) vs 'Big Daddy' Bainsley
Before this match started, Bainsley, flanked by his Magnum brothers; 'Dirty' Dick Riley and 'Filthy' Chris Walker; would come to the ring to promote The Magnums participation in the TLC match later that night. Bainsley would then question why he had no match for the evening and would go onto challenge the biggest dog in the DWA - Chris Andrews. The DWA Trophy holder would then make his way out to answer the challenge - stating that he had wrestled the likes of Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly; why should he need to take on the rotten, sleazy Bainsley?

True to being the champion that he is, Andrews would ask the fans' opinion on whether they would like to see him kick Bainsley's ass - a question that was answered with a resounding cheer. Match on.

Going into this match, it would seem that Andrews would have an easy outing against the third Magnum. This would play out in the early part of the match before Riley and Walker would reappear from the back with bad intentions. At various times, Bainsley would distract the inexperienced Ref Dom long enough for The Magnums to wear Andrews down, thus giving Bainsley the firm advantage. This would last until Ref Dom caught The Magnums in the act and ejected them from ringside. Bainsley's momentum would die shortly after, falling victim to Andrews' Stalling Suplex, a Sharpshooter attempt (Bainsley getting to the ropes) and a very mpressive Fallaway Slam Pin.

Miraculously, Bainsley would gain control again, almost winning the Championship after a World's Srongest Slam. This comeback would be short-lived as Andrews would hoist Bainsley up for the TKO. Ordinarily, this would be the ending, but Bainsley showed great ring awareness by placing his foot on the bottom rope at the critical time. A short time later, Andrews would finally get him up for a definitive TKO, this time in the middle of the ring, to retain his DWA Trophy.

The Magnums would return to the ring to deliver a beating to Andrews before The Alpha Males would storm to the ring to make the save and stare down their TLC opponents. This would be to a, somewhat, flat reaction, though. This would be rectified with the TLC match later in the evening. Big credit should go to Andrews and Bainsley here as this could've easily been a squash, but Bainsley was very convincing when he had the upper hand, beating on Andrews, whether he was helped by his fellow Magnums or not.

'Gentleman' Gilligan Gordon vs Sam Andrews
Leading up to the main event, you would expect a match that would bring the fans down a notch. This achieved that, but in the wrong way.
'Gentleman' Gilligan Gordon (photo: Tony Knox)
Gordon would come to the ring to his usual Star Wars theme and would incite the the fans from the offset. Unfortunately, Andrews wouldn't take advantage of this; coming down with little enthusiasm and energy. As a result of this it made the match really flat and awkward at times.

The positives that I will take from this, though, were the heat that Gordon achieved throughout the match as well as the popularity of Sam Andrews. I hate to knock anyone when watching shows, but I couldn't dispute the love and excitement that the fans had for Andrews before and throughout this match - this was confirmed when he got Gordon up for The Jackhammer and pinned him.

TLC match to determine the Number One Contenders to the Tag Team Trophies: The Magnums vs The Alpha Males
I'd already seen these teams battle it out the previous week in a normal tag team match, and I was expecting good things from this one, too. I wasn't disappointed as this match was the war that I expected it to be and the fans would expect from their main event of the evening; both teams showing how important it is to become tag team champions, by first earning the opportunity to face the champions.

In a Ladder/TLC match, it must be difficult to come up with new and innovative things to do, but both teams seemed to have come up with unique, exciting and, at times, hilarious spots. One such comedy moment happened when 'Filthy' Chris Walker brought a small ladder into the ring to attempt to grab the briefcase (hanging above; holding the contract in it). Unfortunately, Walker would climb to the top of the ladder and realise that he was probably a couple of feet away from reaching the case! In his embarrassment he would call for 'Dirty' Dick to fetch him a bigger ladder...

There would also be tables destroyed with Charlie Garrett being Powerbombed through one by both Magnums, and then 'Dirty' Dick would get wood after receiving a Spinebuster from Iestyn Rees.

Towards the end, 'Big Daddy' Bainsley would enter the fray to aid The Magnums and would help lift Riley to the top of the ladder so that he could reach and unhook the briefcase for the win and secure The Magnums' opportunity at the DWA Tag Team Trophies. Awesome main event - well done to all four guys for the effort that went into putting on such a flowing and brutal match. Match of the Night.
NEW number 1 contenders: The Magnums (photo: Superkick.co.uk)
Results
  • Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum defeated Richtor after a huge bodyslam
  • 'The Winner' PJ Jones defeated 'The Saviour' JD Knight after a roll up (with a handful of tights)
  • DWA Trophy match: DWA Champion/Tag Team Champion 'The Shark' Chris Andrews (c) defeated 'Big Daddy' Bainsley after a second TKO
  • DWA Tag Team Champion Sam Andrews defeated 'Gentleman' Gilligan Gordon after a Jackhammer
  • TLC match to determine the Number One Contenders to the Tag Team Trophies: The Magnums; 'Filthy' Chris Walker & 'Dirty' Dick Riley defeated The Alpha Males; Iestyn Rees & Charlie Garrett when Riley gathered the briefcase - new number one contenders - The Magnums
A very enjoyable show and evening down in Devon! Other praise going to MC Hank McCoy - a very assured performance as always but something seemed extra confident and polished last night. I firmly believe that this type of showing adds to the professionalism of the show in general.

Also, a very professional performance from the rookie Ref Dom - despite having a trouser malfunction (TROUSER SPLIT OF THE NIGHT) in the first match, he would dust himself off and fit into fellow Ref, Paz' spare trousers very snugly to continue with his evenings duties! Congratulations to Ref Paz for completing another show without splitting his trousers...
The Ultimate Rulebreaker applied the rules on this evening...

A Jaded Fan: Ain't Nobody Got No Time For That

It's dawned on me just lately that maybe I'm watching a little too much wrestling. I've said in the past how I watch the majority of WWE programming and also how each show appeals to me. Unfortunately, time constraints and priorities in my life have changed, not to mention my attention span when watching television. I feel a little jaded with the amount that I'm watching. I think that enough is enough and it's time for a change!

Going back a few months, I attempted to watch WWE Raw, Smackdown, Main Event, NXT and ROH's weekly episodes. This lasted about three weeks before something had to give. Despite ROH being something different - especially a fine match between Michael Elgin and Silas Young really hooking me - my strong loyalty to WWE took over and I dropped the lesser-known show in favour of continuing to watch the four offerings of WWE TV that I was already watching.

In the months that followed, the WWE seemed to find a new star. Maybe someone that could take them into a new era? Daniel Bryan emerged from Team Hell No to become the newest breakout star, but with a difference. The fans really wanted this unlike anything I'd seen in years (even more than CM Punk's rise and solidification to bona fide main-eventer a couple of years ago). Unlike the anti-hero that Punk portrayed, Bryan felt more like a traditional babyface; abiding by the rules, smiling, and with a lot less attitude than Punk.
Daniel Bryan: The people's choice
So, with the last few months of WWE television resulting in it being 'must see TV', surely I should be lapping up every minute that I can get? The problem I have is that I can feel my enjoyment of it dipping and decreasing; almost to the point where I'm watching each offering but I'm not taking it in; I'm almost numb and a little distracted while watching my favourite shows from WWE. This has become very apparent to me in the last few weeks.

I used to rave about WWE Main Event, but if I'm honest I haven't watched it for a few weeks now. It doesn't have the same appeal it once had; it's gone from promoting mid-carders/champions (the best example of this was Antonio Cesaro's US title run earlier this year) to having 'Superstars' (TV show) quality competitors like 3MB and Khali. I don't want to see these guys on my screen - especially when the show has just three matches to impress and draw the audience in week-to-week.

I've found that I had to sacrifice Smackdown, too. Despite this being a show I could take or leave, it still feels like the crappy 'B' show; the ginger-haired step-child that the WWE constantly puts down. Admittedly, things have changed since around Summerslam. The appearance of Randy Orton - the then WWE Champion - and his number one adversary Daniel Bryan was something I couldn't remember happening in a very long time.

For what seems like years, Smackdown has been the domain of the World Heavyweight Championship and its contenders. Monday Night Raw has been the WWE Championship's exclusive home since about 2005. Maybe under Triple H's guidance things are slowly changing to give Smackdown more relevance again.

This leaves my WWE viewing down to two shows - the two most important shows in my opinion - Raw and NXT.

Raw is WWE's flagship show and has always taken priority over the years. When the World Heavyweight Championship and champion was on Raw these were the most important factors in the WWE. Now, the WWE Championship has had that claim for over eight years. This show is where all major developments happen (with the odd surprise occurring on Smackdown). As a fan, you can more-than get away with watching Raw and know what is going on in the WWE Universe - it even has recaps of important moments from Smackdown!

NXT is the breeding ground of the future WWE superstars. It's picked up wrestlers from the American indies, the UK and various other countries to bring a breathe of fresh air to WWE programming. It has a different feel to other WWE shows; I read somewhere this week that Raw, Smackdown etc is 'written' whereas NXT is 'booked' and I feel that this is a huge positive in its favour.

On NXT, the faces are likable and the heels are hated as should be the case in all wrestling shows. The gimmicks are fresh and entertaining, too; Tyler Breeze, Enzo Amore and newcomer Aiden English are all talented and make me want to pay attention to their week-to-week progressions.

So, to sum up; I'm optimistic about my future viewing habits. I've trimmed five-and-a-quarter hours of WWE programming down to around three hours (not including commercials). I now feel that I have time and enough attention to commit to Raw and NXT, thus getting my weekly 'fix' of wrestling. If I see or hear that Smackdown has something of worth to see then I'll give it some time, but until then I'm more than happy to limit myself to the two WWE offerings that I have mentioned!

And don't get me started on the amount of British wrestling I'm attending!...

Jimmo's Angle Special: DWA (Devon): The Magnums vs The Alpha Males

Saturday 19th October - TLC (Tables, Ladders & Chairs) match to determine the number one contenders for the DWA Tag Team Championship
This Saturday sees the continuation of a rivalry. A rivalry that sees four talented individuals - two cohesive teams - battle it out to determine who will become the new number one contenders for the Andrews Brothers' Tag Team Championships. Not only will these teams be facing each other in what could be a great tag team bout, but they will do so under TLC - Tables, Ladders and Chairs - rules. For those of you that are not aware, this is a highly dangerous and potentially career-ending match. This just shows how high the stakes are and how great the prize is.

The two teams that will face off for this opportunity are polar opposites in almost every way - The Magnums; 'Filthy' Chris Walker and 'Dirty' Dick Riley and The Alpha Males; Iestyn Rees and Charlie Garrett.
'Dirty' Dick & 'Filthy' Chris: The Magnums
The Magnums have the experience advantage as they have been teaming for almost a year now. This has seen them gain much success - and championships - in various wrestling promotions throughout the south of England. As the months have gone on, they have gotten sleazier and sneakier in their matches and have come out on top in whatever way they have deemed necessary. Most notably, they are the current Pro Evolution Wrestling Tag Team Champions and have held the titles for the best part of a year, beating teams such as The Lionhearts (Eddie Ryan & Jason Larusso) as well as Project Ego (Kris Travis & Martin Kirby). These accomplishments clearly show that despite their somewhat underhanded tactics at times, they are very hard to overcome.

At the other end of the spectrum are The Alpha Males. Iestyn Rees and Charlie Garrett have had less than a handful of matches as a team but have already impressed and turned heads. Unlike The Magnums' sleazy, boozy and womanising ways, The Alphas are clean cut, hard-working (in and out of the gym) and are ready for life in the tag team division. They have already chalked up an impressive win over The Bruiser Street Mob (Gilligan Gordon & Matt Lomaxx) on their debut outing. Rees' experience and Garrett's youth and speed can only be a good thing despite the experience that they are giving away to their opponents as a team. It's surely only a matter of time before you will see The Alpha Males in tag team championship matches, as well as winning gold at some point in the future.
Charlie Garrett & Iestyn Rees: The Alpha Males
I managed to get some comments from both teams leading into their match this Saturday in Barnstaple, Devon:

The Magnums' thoughts on The Alpha Males:

"The Alpha Males are everything we despise. Like their love for the fans. Their respectful ways. We've beaten them once [at Pro EVW; October 12th] and we will beat them again! We think the TLC match is an outrage and should be banned. We are professionals and feel like weapons are a form of cheating. However, we do like to conceive children over tables and on chairs! Saturday will be a repeat of the Saturday just gone - we will win. We have been teaming a year now. The TLC is only their third match as a team and this is the weakness we will pick apart and use to our advantage. The Magnums are dirty and filthy for a reason - we will win by whatever means necessary! Barnstaple better be ready to get its sheets dirty!"

The Alpha Males' thoughts on The Magnums:
"They're giving it all the talk; on Sleaze TV; on every show that they're on - running us down. They never want to get in the ring with us, though? And when they do, they have to cheat to beat us. On October 19th, in Barnstaple, it's going to come to a head. Basically, they're all sizzle and no sauce; they've got nothing on us - we are the two best physical specimens in British wrestling today. It's our first time in a TLC match but we're ready."

Iestyn Rees' thoughts on 'Dirty' Dick Riley:
"He's gained a bit of weight since hanging around that 'Filthy' Chris Walker. He used to be in shape when he was training with Joel Redman. But now it seems that he's had too much Chinese, too many boozy nights and hanging around questionable nightclubs where other men hang out. I have wrestled Riley up and down the country and I know what he's about and what he can bring to a match."
Charlie Garrett's thoughts on 'Filthy' Chris Walker:
"I've had more dealings with Walker; I think I've beaten him most of the time, but Saturday will be a different situation. It's our team vs them and it's TLC so anything that has happened in the past is irrelevant now. I remember a time when Walker hit Iestyn with a chair; well on Saturday I'm going to hit him with a chair."
The Alpha Males on their chances this Saturday:
"We may be the underdogs; inexperienced in comparison, but we are winning; no doubt. Absolutely... we guarantee it. We WILL be the new number one contenders for the DWA Tag Team Championships."

As you can see, both teams are ready for the chaos and damage that will ensue on Saturday. If you're in the Barnstaple area (or even if you're not) get yourself along to The Factory, Barnstaple for a top evening of British wrestling. Please check out the Facebook page for this event for more (and up-to-date) information - DWA - TLC, The Factory, Barnstaple.

This show will also feature the DWA Tag Team Champions - The Andrews Brothers (Chris & Sam) along with other talents of the South-west of England.

My Weekend of (British) Wrestling 20 - Pro EVW

Saturday 12th October 2013 - Pro EVW - Wotton Hall Club, Gloucester

The 20th edition of 'My Weekend of British Wrestling' and what better way to celebrate this than to cover a Pro EVW show! A welcome return to the site of Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum's greatest triumph to date - winning the Pro EVW Championship from 'The Shark' Chris Andrews a couple of months ago. Although the Wotton Hall Club appears to be smaller than some venues I've been to, the noise that the audience creates makes it seem like there are double the amount of fans in there!
Former Pro EVW Champion Chris Andrews
This show saw a welcome return of some of Pro EVW's regular guys (despite them being at last weeks show in Ross-on-Wye - I wasn't present for that so this show was nice to see them!). The first three matches featured ultra-babyfaces (good guys) and the meanest heels (bad guys). PJ Jones, UK Dominator and the Pro EVW Tag Team Champions The Magnums were all at hand to get the Wotton Hall audience furious and in hope that they would get what was coming to them. Chris Andrews, 'The Heartbreaker' Matty Harris and The Alpha Males would counter these heels and get great support from the fans in attendance.

The first match of the night pitted 'The Winner' PJ Jones taking on the much larger Chris Andrews. PJ would incite the audience within the first thirty-seconds of his entrance, claiming to be a 'winner' from the offset. This would, of course, get the crowd chanting that PJ was in fact a 'loser'. This character is so simple but so effective and it makes me smile every time. I often wonder if PJ's voice takes a bashing where he screams 'WINNER!!' so many times throughout?!
The Winner's Circle: An elite club... (photo: Superkick.co.uk)
This was a pretty solid opener with PJ getting in a lot of offence - something I'm used to with Chris Andrews opponents; despite his size, his opponents seem to be able to find a weakness and work on it to good effect - PJ doing so really well. Ultimately, Andrews' determination would show through and he would hoist PJ up for a devastating TKO for the win - probably one of the most impressive moves you'll see on a Pro EVW show! Later that night on the drive home, one guy would make a very good point that Chris Andrews is what a wrestler should look like - I couldn't agree more.

The second match would see experience go up against youth. The much travelled UK Dominator would make his way to the ring and berate the locals, explaining his code of conduct that they should follow throughout his matches. This would infuriate them. This is what I love about him; some things are done so well and almost effortlessly. He has a look and a manner about him that makes him instantly hated. Excellent.

His opponent, 'The Heartbreaker' Matty Harris, would come out with huge confidence and gain the audience's support straightaway. Unfortunately, Harris' inexperience would shine through as Dominator would quite literally take him to school, smashing him all over the ring and even towards the bar for all to see the punishment that he was dishing out to the youngster. A confrontation between Dom and a ringside fan would lead to the demise of Harris believe it or not. Dom would get in the face of the fan in question, demanding he be shown the respect he deserved; whilst referee Paz was checking on the fan, Dom would then deliver a crushing low-blow to Harris, easily rolling him up for the win. The Ultimate Rulebreaker showing why he has that moniker...

The last match before the interval was one that I was really looking forward to. The Pro EVW Tag Team Championships would be on the line as The Magnums would defend against the newly formed Alpha Males. There was a lot of back and forth early on before The Magnums would take control of Charlie Garrett, tagging in and out frequently and showing why they have been champions for the majority of the year.

Garrett would eventually get the hot tag to Rees who would take the champions to their limit; almost gaining the victory before the ref was pulled out of the ring by 'Dirty' Dick Riley. The Alpha Males would get their revenge for this act by pulling the ref out of the ring when it looked like The Magnums would retain. Towards the end of the match, it turned into an all-out brawl; both teams showing their desire to walk out as Tag Team Champions. Rees and Riley would battle on the outside as 'Filthy' Chris Walker would gain the sneaky and sleazy pin on Garrett after grabbing a handful of tights.
Can The Alpha Males eventually take the Tag Team titles?
At this point of the night, it seemed that this was easily the Match of the Night. It was going to take something really special to beat it. This match was a winner to me from the start as both teams are proper teams; they wear the same uniform and have common traits that reinforce why they are a team - both The Magnums and Alpha Males have this and more. I can't put my finger on why I liked this match so much other than as the match went on the excitement factor went higher and higher before The Magnums would cheat their way to victory.

After the interval, MC Hank McCoy would announce that at the December 7th show (at the Capitol Venue, Gloucester) there will be a Ladder match between The Alpha Males and Project Ego (Kris Travis & Martin Kirby) to decide new number one contenders to face The Magnums at a later date. Whilst mentioning Hank McCoy, it should be noted that I thought he did an excellent job. Although there were signs of nerves - this was to be expected after a small lay-off from MC-ing - he would put in a clear, confident and enthusiastic performance all night, even making fun of himself and carrying on with the show when needed. Professional.

The action returned after the interval with a special match that would lead into the main event nicely. Gilligan Gordon would take on The Monstrosity known as Richtor in 'Richtor's Farewell Tour' - I should point out that this isn't a retirement. Soon, Richtor will leave us for a while and come back BETTER, BADDER and ANGRIER, ready to destroy whoever crosses his path. With this goal in mind, his recent matches have seen him over-power some top talent and this match against Gordon would be no different.
Richtor
In fairness to Gordon, he fared better against Richtor than some have just lately, giving the big man problems throughout the match. The ending would be academic, though, as Richtor would show power and dominance Vader-bombing Gordon in the corner for the win. That makes it three wins in a row for The Monstrosity known as Richtor; could this mean that a title match is in his future? If so, would the champion stand a chance against this mountain of a man?

The main event of the evening would see Pro EVW Champion Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum take on his biggest challenge to date - against the experienced, and much travelled, former TNA star 'The Anarchist' Doug Williams.

In the early going, Doug would somewhat school Justin, this was coupled with a show of mutual respect as both men felt each other out. Throughout this match, the Gloucester audience would show there support for Justin, cheering him but also jeering Williams at times. As this went on Williams would get frustrated and become more aggressive as a result. This would continue for the rest of the match, with Williams also beginning to taunt the locals with sarcastic applause to his own moves. This would aggravate Justin's fans further and almost solidify Williams as a heel.

Towards the end of the match there would be some great sequences between the two. At one point, Justin would go for his 450 splash, Williams moving out of the way only for Justin to land on his feet with complete control. Impressive. A few moments later, Williams would go for his finisher Chaos Theory, only for Justin to counter it into a roll up. Again, impressive. As it was unclear who would walk away as champion, things went up to the top turnbuckle, with Justin eventually hitting a Sit-down Powerbomb to finally get the hard-earned victory.

This was an excellent main event to the show. It completely surprised me as I felt that they would have an 'ok' match due to Justin's inexperience. I am very pleased that I was proven wrong and that this match was as exciting and flowing as it was. In a recent interview, Justin said that one man would leave as champion and one man would leave broken; I think that both men left better for it - Justin with a invaluable match and win over a very well respected talent, and Doug can now say he faced a great local talent that will only get better and better as he continues to improve. Everybody wins.

UK Dominator
Results
  • 'The Shark' Chris Andrews defeated 'The Winner' PJ Jones with a TKO
  • The UK Dominator defeated 'The Heartbreaker' Matty Harris (w/ Katy) with a low-blow/roll up
  • Pro EVW Tag Team Championship: The Magnums (c); 'Dirty' Dick Riley & 'Filthy' Chris Walker defested The Alpha Males; Iestyn Rees & Charlie Garrett when Walker rolled Garrett up
  • The Monstrosity known as Richtor defeated Gilligan Gordon with a Vader-bomb
  • Pro EVW Championship: Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum (c) defeated 'The Anarchist' Doug Williams with a Sit-down Powerbomb
Another home-run from Pro EVW! Five excellent matches with some great talent kept me, and the Gloucester audience excited and hooked throughout. Everyone played their parts; MC Hank McCoy with a nice return to ring announcing on this show, and Referees Paz and Chris being capable and calling things down the middle - Paz even managing to salvage his trousers this show...

The next Pro EVW show will take place on Saturday 2nd November at Cinderford Miner's Hall, Cinderford - be sure to be there! For more (and up-to-date) information on this event please visit the Pro EVW Facebook page and follow them on Twitter - @ProEvoWrestling

My Weekend of (British) Wrestling 19 - Kamikaze Pro

Sunday 6th October 2013 - Kamikaze Pro presents 'Bank On It' - Meadway Sports and Social Club, Birmingham

First of all, I'd just like to apologise to the guys that organised and took part on this show that this edition of 'My Weekend of (British) Wrestling' is so late... hectic week so far and this was the first chance I had to get something together! In no way does this mean that the show wasn't good or that I couldn't be bothered to do a review - this was my first Kamikaze Pro wrestling show and it was really good. There were a few hitches here and there but overall the show was well put together and things made sense. First tick in the box!

As I say, this was my first Kamikaze Pro show but there were a lot of familiar faces. There were also a fair few guys that I hadn't met before and it was good to meet and see these guys in action.

The first match saw Iestyn Rees take on Ricky J McKenzie. This was a decent opener that 'woke everyone up' ready for the rest of the show. This was achieved in the opening few minutes with a battle of the 'Boo/Yays'... this got everyone firmly against McKenzie and firmly behind the more determined Rees. Throughout this match McKenzie would target the taped-up shoulder of Rees to good effect before Rees would come back strong with a devastating Spinebuster Slam for the win, despite his shoulder causing him considerable pain.

The next two matches should have been great on paper and reality but both were let down, not by the wrestlers, but by other factors putting spanners in the works. Up first would be the 'Heavyweight House of Pain' Stixx taking on the 'Pride of Wales' Eddie Dennis. The winner of this match would then earn the opportunity to face Dragon Gate star Uhaa Nation at the next event on November 10th. The match itself was lost to me because of the very confusing finish; towards the end Dennis scored what looked like a three-count that had all at ringside confused - the referee had clearly counted the three but the match would then continue moments later. Then, Dennis would go for another pinfall - this time with his feet on the second rope, gaining the three-count even though Stixx had kicked out on two. This would then be the finish to the match; everyone involved seemed confused to this finish - wrestlers, ring announcers and fans alike. It had appeared that the referee wasn't aware of the finish here? A very flat reaction from the crowd followed, something that these wrestlers did not deserve. During the match, the smaller Dennis would dominate Stixx at times and will now go onto face Uhaa Nation in Digbeth, Birmingham.

The third match would be for the Relentless Division Championship - a title that I assume is like an X Division or Cruiserweight title. The champion, Damian Dunne would be challenged by MK McKinnon. This match was really fast paced and exciting at times. As it went on something became apparent to me, though. I have only seen a handful of episodes of Ring of Honor, but this match seemed to be in the same mold as that. What I mean by that is that there would be big move after big move that would seemingly win a match in say, WWE, but here two-counts would be a regular occurrence for such moves. After a few of these occasions, I felt that the audience started to lose interest, wondering what move would win the match. Now, you're probably thinking that this adds to the excitement, but I think 90% of a British Wrestling audience are not watch-any-wrestling, die-hard fans of the American indies; they watch a bit of WWE or TNA and probably want to see that style of TV when they go to local shows.

I'm not saying that this match doesn't have a place on the UK scene, it's just I think you have to be very careful of if your audience is going to 'get' this type of match and appreciate it. I don't want to take anything away from the two guys in the ring, though - Dunne and McKinnon put on an exciting match and gave everything.

The fourth match of the night was a Money in the Bank ladder match. This would be where six competitors would all compete to earn a shot at the Kamikaze Pro Champion at whatever time they choose to. The six guys all put work into this match and there were some very good moves involving all of them - at the same time; a six-man Side Russian Leg Sweep was really funny to see as was a six-man Tower of Doom where Jim Hunter completed a Sunset Flip from the outside to send all of his opponents crashing to the mat from one corner. There were also a few spots involving just two wrestlers at a time (believe it or not!); Jim Hunter delivering a German Suplex to Chris Brookes onto the folded ladder and also Robbie X delivering a Coast-to-Coast to Marshall X in the opposite corner to him. Really exciting and impressive stuff from all six guys resulted in Robbie X climbing the ladder and retrieving the briefcase and earning himself a title shot whenever he chooses! Match of the Night.

The penultimate match of the night would be a really fun one for me. I'm used to seeing The Magnums ('Filthy' Chris Walker and 'Dirty' Dick Riley) performing as heels - something they do very well. Tonight was a first for me as they were faces (good guys); this resulted in some really funny stuff. After the angry entrances of their opponents - Dan Moloney and Tyler Bate - The Magnums would come out to a huge reception - clearly Birmingham (and Kamikaze Pro) is Magnum country - massively OVER with the audience.

Throughout the match, spots that would embarrass The Magnums ordinarily, would instead make Moloney and Bate look foolish. This was a really entertaining match and a new side to The Magnums that I hadn't seen before - they prove to me show after show that there is plenty of fuel in the tank of The Magnums and there is no end to what they can bring to the ring. Credit to Moloney and Bate as well; I've only realised recently that Moloney is sixteen-years-old, but I believe that Bate is too - they both have a great look and with the time they have ahead of them, they should BOTH be great prospects for the future as they learn more and more.

The main event pitted 'The Mexican Sensation' El Ligero against Kamikaze Pro Champion Ryan Smile - with the championship on the line. This match didn't work for me, and that's not to say it was bad, but something was missing. With Ligero matches, I'm used to seeing flowing and exciting matches. This seemed like a heavyweight match though. What I mean by that is that if I see two heavier wrestlers in a match, then I'd expect a war, a slug-fest, but when I see Ligero and Smile I'd expect a faster pace.

The end of the match would see Smile use the championship belt to gain the pinfall. This would then bring out Robbie X (with his newly won briefcase) ready to cash in. Before he could do so, Relentless Champion Damian Dunne would attack from behind, starting a two-man beatdown of the popular Robbie X. Before they could finish the job, though, Chris Brookes would make the save and chase off the heels. This would then lead to the four agreeing to a tag team match at the next show on November 10th.

Results
  • Iestyn Rees defeated Ricky J McKenzie
  • 'The Pride of Wales' Eddie Dennis defeated Stixx
  • Relentless Division Championship: Damian Dunne (c) defeated MK McKinnon
  • Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Robbie X defeated Marshall X, Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum, Chris Brookes, Dan Splash and Jim Hunter
  • The Magnums; 'Filthy' Chris Walker & 'Dirty' Dick Riley defeated Dan Moloney & Tyler Bate
  • Kamikaze Pro Championship: Ryan Smile (c) defeated El Ligero
This was Kamikaze Pro's fourth show and my first. It was a really nice show and kept me hooked throughout (despite my position over on the merchandise stand!). Unfortunately, one match left a sour taste in people's mouths and one match didn't grip the audience as it should've but that takes NOTHING from the guys in them - they all did a great job despite these factors.

If I can make the trip up, I'd really like to see the next show on Sunday 10th November in Digbeth, Birmingham, where Eddie Dennis will take on Dragon Gate star Uhaa Nation and the Kamikaze Pro and Relentless Champions; Ryan Smile and Damian Dunne will take on 'Mr Money in the Bank' Robbie X and his partner Chris Brookes.

Get yourself along to this show. For more (and up-to-date) information visit the Kamikaze Pro Facebook page and follow them on Twitter!

Jimmo's Angle Special: Pro Evolution Wrestling: Saturday 12th October 2013: Sysum vs Williams

Pro EVW Heavyweight Championship: Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum (c) vs Doug Williams

This Saturday sees the latest show to be put on by Pro Evolution Wrestling. It will take place in the Wotton Hall Club in Gloucester and is looking to be a top show already. The main event of the night will be young Pro EVW Champion Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum being challenged by the more travelled and experienced, former TNA star Doug Williams. This will undoubtedly be Justin's biggest match to date.

In the last few shows Justin has had to prove his metal against one of the toughest competitors in the UK - JD Knight. These matches have shown Justin's fight, determination and will to improve, and have also shown that he has learnt and gained confidence with every match he has had. Last Saturday night, Justin overcame Knight once again to earn the right to face Williams this Saturday.

I was fortunate to catch up with Justin for a few comments on how he is getting along AND I was able to get a few comments from Doug Williams about British Wrestling and what he thinks of Justin going into their bout on the weekend:
Pro EVW Champion: Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum
Jimmo's Angle: Hi Justin, it's still fairly early in your career; how have you found it so far? Are you having fun?

Justin: Since day one, turning up at Pro EVW and getting to Dropkick someone in the head: the whole journey has been amazing! I learned very quickly that the basics were far more important than kicking people in the head (but from time to time a good Dropkick is called for!).

I have been fortunate enough to be taken on as a trainee by several experienced veterans who have made sure that none of my time has been wasted and I continue to progress. Each one of them excel in different aspects of wrestling and I take everything I can from them. I have to thank Gilligan Gordon and T-Bone for all the help they gave me early on and their continuing support. These guys also introduced me to Dave Mastiff, Iestyn Rees & Ash Steel who all continue to play a part in my training and will make me do squats if I don’t mention them. Yes I’m definitely having fun! (I like squats!).

What do you make of the British Wrestling scene so far?

The British wrestling scene is huge! I had no idea how many companies and wrestlers there were out there. It doesn’t take long to realise which companies and wrestlers are worth their salt though. There are probably 10 companies putting on poor shows to every good one, I just hope it doesn’t put fans off and they seek out the shows worth going to.

Are there any UK wrestlers that stick out as being stars in the making to you? Who inspires you?

I’ll try and pick a few here but there are so many guys and girls who have the potential to make it to the top;

T-Bone is first to spring to mind, I get to work with him at training a lot and the guy is a beast; some guys lose as soon as they see him walk out of the curtain; Charlie Garrett is the next guy I think who has star potential. He can do everything I can do but he’s two inches taller and a little heavier, it makes me sick. He’s young too, it’s a good job I’m prettier than he is; Chris Andrews… Just look at the guy, he’s amazing too.

From all of the girls I have seen at shows and trained with I’d have to say Katy Lees: you won’t know her from shows as she’s just breaking onto them but if you see her train you’ll see what I see.

There are plenty more top quality wrestlers around and I have only met a small portion of them which is why I have stuck close to home on these choices. A guy who is already a star in this country is Dave Mastiff, his knowledge and skill set is second-to-none and he would be the guy in this country who inspires me simply because I want to be that good. The other people who inspire me are the guys and girls earning a great living from our sport. The ones that transcend wrestling and have become global superstars.

What are your ambitions? Would an ultimate goal be to get to the big leagues of America?

To be successful. I want to take it all the way, make as much money as I can doing something I love. I'd then like to look back and be proud of my achievements. One of my favourite phrases for when someone is egging me onto do a big or dangerous move is “Save it for WrestleMania” - That should tell you everything you need to know about my ambition.

What UK promotions have you worked for?

I got my break at Pro Evolution Wrestling (Pro EVW) - it’s where I spend most of my training time and I’m the current Pro EVW Heavyweight Champion. The guys who run the shows are the reason I will always be part of the Pro EVW roster - I have so much respect for them. I have also worked for All Star, DWA, Devon Championship Wrestling, Kamikaze Pro, Pro Wrestling Pride & New Breed Wrestling Alliance.

Even though it's still early for you, what advice would you give youngsters who want to get into the business? What invaluable advice have you received?

It really is still early but I have managed to progress relatively quickly because I attend a good wrestling school. Find a good school with a good reputation. I’ve mentioned Pro EVW if you live in Gloucestershire. If you live in Wiltshire 4FW is the place to be and people travel from all parts of the country, myself included, to train at Brookside’s School in Leicester. The head trainer is Robbie Brookside who is currently NXT Staff!

The best advice I have been given is to listen to everything everyone has to say, then pick the bits that are right for you - Gilligan Gordon is a wise man.
My best advice? Be better than everyone around you. You need to look better than them & wrestle better. A fan is someone who admires and looks up to you, if they think they can beat you then they aren’t fans and they won’t pay their money to see you fight. Your audience can’t grow unless you do. Why is Brock Lesnar wrestling in front of millions on TV? Because he’s stronger and scarier than everybody. John Cena? Because he looks better than everybody. Punk? Apparently because he’s The Best in the World…

Heading into Saturday's match; what is your opinion of Doug Williams?

Doug and I have met a couple of times backstage at other shows, He keeps himself to himself and is a genuinely nice guy. That being said, he’ll take you apart in the ring and there’s a reason he has been to the top of this sport. I respect Doug, not because I’m a greenhorn and I should but because I want to go the places he has been and have the same success and I’m beginning to realise just how hard it is to achieve that.

He has a wealth of experience behind him and I imagine a lot of people think he is going to take me to school. However, I have the advantage of being able to watch footage of his fights and scout him whereas he has no idea what I am capable of. I can tell you this, one of us is going to come out champ, the other a broken man.

Thank you for you time Justin. Good luck for this Saturday!

I then caught up with Doug Williams briefly for a few words:
Challenger: Doug Williams
Jimmo's Angle: Hi Doug, thanks for your time! Firstly I'd like to ask: being a Brit that has spent a lot of time over in America, how do you find coming back to the UK?

Doug: To be honest, I spent a lot of time in UK last year so coming back I haven't seen any great changes or needed to make any dramatic adjustments. It's just really good to be wrestling in front of British fans again, they are the best in the world.

Do you see any similarities between the US and UK or are things very similar?

In terms of styles of Wrestling things are getting very similar. As for fans, I find the UK fans are a lot less jaded and just come to have a good time, which I really appreciate when I perform for them.

Are there any UK wrestlers that stick out as being rising stars to you?

Plenty - Noam Dar, Marty Scurll, Johnny Moss are three of my favourites. In reality the UK scene is rammed with talent at the moment.

Is it easy for a UK star to get noticed by the big leagues of America? How would this process work?

It's easy to get a tryout and the opportunity to show them what you've got. Securing a job, now that is much more difficult.

What UK promotions have you worked for? How have you found the organisation of these promotions?

Pretty much all of them! The organisation ranges from incredibly professional to barely passable as you might expect!

What advice would you give youngsters who want to get into the business? Are there any common mistakes made by youngsters that lead them down the wrong path? What would you advise to iron these out?

Make sure you are in shape and at least look like an athlete. The most common mistake I see is young guys who do not have a clear grasp of the fundamentals. Walk before you can run! Training, practice and working as many shows as possible is the best way to improve on these.

Finally, I'd just like to get your thoughts on your opponent for this Saturday - Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum?

I've only met Justin a couple of times and he seems very eager to learn and improve. He's a very polite and respectful guy, too. Admittedly, I haven't seen him in the ring and this is to his advantage, but I have experience on my side and this will mean that I will have the upper hand. It'll be very interesting to see how our match goes, but I fully expect Justin to show me what he's got; as I will, too. Unfortunately for Justin, I will be looking to pick up his Pro EVW Championship by the end of the night!

Jimmo's Angle: Thank you to Doug and Justin for their comments going into their championship match this Saturday. I urge you to make the trip to see this show - another match that will be must see, will be the Pro Evolution Wrestling Tag Team Championship match between The Magnums and the newest tag team in Gloucester; The Alpha Males. This will all happen, along with other top matches, this Saturday (12th October) at the Wotton Hall Club in Gloucester!

Pro Evolution Wrestling results: Saturday 5th October 2013 - Ross-on-Wye

With only a week to go until the Wotton Hall Club show in Gloucester, this event would see the Pro EVW Champion Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum defend his title against JD Knight. Each man had scored a win over the other heading into this encounter and this decider would see who would go onto face former TNA star Doug Williams on October 12th.

I wasn't at this show, but by the looks of the card I missed a really great looking card:

Results
  • 'The Shark' Chris Andrews defeated The Big Grizzly after a TKO
  • 'The Winner' PJ Jones defeated Pro EVW Tag Team Champion 'Dirty' Dick Riley (Magnums) (Jones' feet were on the ropes)
  • The Alpha Males; Iestyn Rees & Charlie Garrett defeated The Bruiser Street Mob; Gilligan Gordon & Matt Lomaxx after a Spiral Tap
  • Jimmy Meadows defeated The UK Dominator with a Crossbody
  • Richtor defeated Mike Bird with a Vader-Bomb
  • Pro EVW Championship: Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum (c) defeated 'The Saviour' JD Knight - Justin will now face Doug Williams on October 12th in Gloucester with the Pro EVW Championship on the line
Good to see the returns of regulars Chris Andrews; with what must have been an impressive TKO on the larger Big Grizzly; PJ Jones; with a sneaky win over a face 'Dirty' Dick Riley. This confused me as I thought it might have been a heel vs heel match. With the Magnums vs Alpha Males feud heating up I wonder how wise it is to have a face Magnum match at this time. Another welcome return on this show would have been from the 'Ultimate Rulebreaker' The UK Dominator; even if it was in a losing effort.

The next show will be at Wotton Hall Club in Gloucester on Saturday (12th October)... the main event of the evening will be the Pro EVW Champion Justin 'The Hammer' Sysum defending his title against the more experienced Doug Williams. Also the Pro EVW Tag Team Championships will be defended as the champions The Magnums will take on the newest and brightest tag team; The Alpha Males - be sure to get yourself along to this show. More (and up-to-date) information can be found on the Pro EVW Facebook page and if you follow them on Twitter - @ProEvoWrestling.
